Real Men Mentor

Attention men: We are facing a crisis, and you can help.

At least 7% of all African-American children have a mother or father in prison. A U.S. Senate report suggests 70% of these children will wind up in prison themselves.

Too many boys in the Houston area are at risk of dropping out of school and getting involved with gangs and drugs. They're losing their way. They're on a path that leads to incarceration instead of education.

It's time to break this cycle.

Big Brother Little Brother

Join Big Brothers Big Sisters and help change our community one child at a time. By talking and trading stories, you can help a boy make positive choices. It's not about spending money - it's about spending time, brother-to-brother.

"But I'm not a role model."

Are you sure? Role models don't always have big accomplishments or fancy titles. They're young and old. They're bus drivers, teachers, doctors, firemen, students, lawyers, executives, and fathers. Role models are people who choose to give back to their community.

By becoming a Big Brother, you'll become a role model to a child. You can do this.

It's time to man up and mentor.
