I have a busy schedule. Doesn’t it take a lot of time to be a Big?
Not at all – just four hours a month, a couple of afternoons. What do you like to do on the weekend? You could bring your Little along with you. Our kids aren’t looking for an entertainer – they’re looking for a friend.
What kinds of kids are Littles?
Our Littles come from all walks of life – they’re as diverse as Houston is. What they all share in common is a desire for a friend. There’s a unique Little waiting for you!
How do I become a Big?
It’s easy. Click here, put in your zip code, and fill out an online inquiry.
We’ll contact you to schedule a face-to-face interview at our office, or at a location of your choosing.
The interview lasts about an hour. During that time, we learn about your personality, your background, and what kinds of traits you’d like in you Little Brother or Sister.
We will perform a criminal background check as well. There is a $25 fee that is not refundable.
We will call three of your personal references.
After the interview process, our Enrollment and Matching Specialists will find the ideal Little for you.

We’ll introduce you both at one of our offices. After that, it’s up to you and your Little to decide what kinds of things to do together.
I already have kids. Can I still be a Big?
Of course! We have many parents who volunteer as Bigs. In fact, you and your family can be part of what we call a “Big Family” match. It’s a chance for your spouse and your kids to see the value of being mentors as well.
