BACKGROUND: This is the 4th year BBBS has teamed up with First Tee of Houston to bring the game of golf to our Littles. “Little Links” teaches the basics of golf to children who may not have ever had the chance to play. First Tee also uses golf to teach children the value of character traits such as honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship.
“Little Links” kicks off The Swing for Kids’ Sake Golf Tournament, one of BBBS’ biggest fundraisers. Swing for Kids’ Sake is co-chaired by Jim Metcalf, a BBBS board member and the 2006 Texas Big Brother of the Year. The tournament will be held at Cypresswood Golf Club on Monday, November 13. Little Links is sponsored by Linda Murray, the Newfield Foundation, and TurboChem.
