Jim Metcalf Named Texas Big Brother of the Year

Jim Metcalf, who has been a Big Brother for 10 years, was presented the state's top honor of Texas Big Brother of the Year award at the Annual Meeting on April 27.

Jim was selected from a field of very dedicated Bigs from the around the state. He and his "Little", Shaun Finley, exemplify the meaning of a perfect match.

Jim decided to become a Big after seeing a television commercial for the organization. His response was "I can do that." Together, Jim and Shaun, have conquered hurdles that stood in Shaun's way to a better life. Jim has led by example and has encouraged Shaun to remember that the important decisions he makes will influence his life.

Jim has not only been a Big but a driving force on the BBBS board, the Bowl for Kids' Sake Committee, and as Chair of the Swing for Kids' Sake golf tournament. He is a true ambassador and we are proud of him. Congratulations Jim!
