Local Big Brother Jim Metcalf was honored on Saturday, March 31st, 2007 at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Houston’s “Magic of Mentoring” Gala for his outstanding dedication to mentoring. A representative from Governor Rick Perry’s OneStar Foundation also honored Jim at the Gala by naming him “Best Mentor in Texas” for 2007.

US Sentor John Cornyn to Advocate for Youth Mentoring in Texas

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Texas announced today that United States Senator John Cornyn has agreed to serve as the organization’s Honorary State Chair. In this position, Senator Cornyn will act as spokesperson for BBBS and advocate for youth mentoring on the group’s behalf at various opportunities across the state and nationally.
